Musical Marathon Words

So from the list of words found on our Facebook page facebook.com/soundscool1 to help you here is a little story! Remember we will donate 10p for every word you can remember (along with the meaning) at your piano lesson.

The charity is the Sheffield Hospitals Charity.

Marathon Man Story...... The picture is Oliver running along the Avenue in Bucklebury. He will be running 5K a day for the next week for the same charity!

This was a pre-Covid London marathon, 26,000 runners were eager to start.

Because the pack was so huge his movement was ADAGIO which gave way only to ANDANTE. “When are we going to get going” he thought. "We are already 2 minutes in and we are only moving MODERATO".

Then the crowd thinned and his pace turned ALLEGRETTO and finally at the right pace for running, ALLEGRO.

His coach had told him not to go too fast but this part was downhill, PRESTO! Also the coach said that miles 17 – 22 are the hardest, but right now the marathon man didn’t care.

“Life is DOLCE, life is SCHERZANDO and my heart feels DELICATO” he thought. “I run ENERGICO and feel CANTABILE and (dare I say) even TRANQUILLO”.

Without knowing it ACCELERANDO, ALLEGRO ASSAI, PIU ALLEGRO then...

mile 17!

SEMPRE MENO ALLEGRO, RALLENTANDO, NON BREATHING……

SENZA ENERGY… CON FATIGUE . POCO LUST FOR LIFE

……. SMORZANDO

Then SOTTO VOCE he recounted the reason for the mission!

He was here to raise money for the Sheffield Hospitals Trust. What better cause can there be than helping part of our beloved NHS?

A TEMPO! “If I don’t win I will still have raised money so TEMPO RUBATO for the last 9 miles”.

Towards the FINE. Enjoy the applause and the glory.

Maybe next year DA CAPO?
